Alexey Stepanovich Khomyakov – an outstanding Russian thinker, poet, and theologian, one of the founders of Slavophilism. His philosophical works defended Russia's distinct identity and the role of Orthodoxy in its development. Khomyakov criticized Western European religious models, proposing his own vision of church life. He is also known as a poet and public figure who opposed serfdom.
