The result of painstaking scientific work by researchers of the legendary complex of archaeological sites at Kostenki.
More than 350 priceless artifacts from the main collection of the Kostenki Museum-Reserve, carrying the breath of distant millennia, are now open to visitors. The exhibition showcases the ancient treasures that the Voronezh region can rightfully be proud of.
Visitors will see originals and replicas of everyday items used by distant ancestors who traversed harsh expanses: stone and bone tools, intricate ornaments made of bone, mammoth tusk and shells, and hunting and artistic artifacts. Each exhibit was carefully selected from the main and scientific and auxiliary collections. Some finds are more than 30,000 years old.
The central part of the exhibition is the diorama 'Window into the Paleolithic', which depicts one episode from the lives of our ancestors: the daily life of Stone Age hunters.
Residents and visitors of Azov will be able to experience the grandeur of bygone epochs at the 'Pioneers of the Stone Age' exhibition until August 28.
