About museum
In its activities, the botanical garden (within programs developed by the Council of Botanical Gardens under the Department of General Biology of the Russian Academy of Sciences) is engaged in developing the theoretical foundations and methods of plant introduction, analyzing introduction collections of wild and cultivated flora, developing scientifically based approaches to the conservation of rare and endangered plant species, methods for propagating plants introduced into cultivation, studying the breeding‑genetic bases of plant productivity, and developing the scientific principles of ornamental horticulture.
