The creative contest 'What is a Son of the Fatherland' in 2024 is held as part of events dedicated to the 275th anniversary of the birth of the writer, philosopher and public figure Alexander Nikolaevich Radishchev and the 200th anniversary of the birth of Alexey Petrovich Bogolyubov, the grandson of A.N. Radishchev and the founder of the A.N. Radishchev Saratov Art Museum.
The organizer of the Contest is the State Budgetary Cultural Institution 'Association of State Literary and Memorial Museums of the Penza Region' with the assistance of the Administration of Kuznetsky District of the Penza Region and the Administration of the city of Kuznetsk, Penza Region.
The aim of the Contest is to draw public attention to the literary heritage of great Russian writers.
Students of general education schools, secondary vocational institutions or specialized educational establishments, organizations of additional education, art departments of children's art schools (DShI), art studios, higher education institutions, and working youth are invited to participate in the Contest. Participants' ages are from 10 to 20 years (inclusive).
Group I – 10–14 years;
Group II – 15–20 years.
Attendance of participants at the final event is mandatory.
The Contest is held in two categories:
- "Literary". Theme of the category: 'Alexander Nikolaevich Radishchev'. Page, student, customs officer, philosopher, publicist, poet, author of 'A Journey from St. Petersburg to Moscow'; 'Alexey Petrovich Bogolyubov. A journey lasting a lifetime.' Sailor, painter, patron, collector.
- "Artistic". Theme of the category: 'The Small Homeland of the Great'.
Creative works may be individual or collective.
