The National Art Museum of the RS (Y) attracts the attention of local residents and visitors to the republic with numerous exhibitions, concerts, seminars and master classes. The National Art Museum of the RS (Y) is located in the very center of Yakutsk. The museum's collection includes works by foreign and Russian artists from the 16th–20th centuries, as well as an overview of Yakutian art from the 18th to the early 21st century. The basis of the museum collection consists of 27 paintings from the State Tretyakov Gallery. The Russian art section presents a unique collection of folk crafts. The most important element of the museum is the art of Yakutia, which is characterized by a strong national identity and the use of various techniques. The city hosts three branches of the museum, and there are 26 virtual branches in the districts of the republic.
