Zabaykalsky Regional Art Museum is an important cultural center of Zabaykalsky Krai. It was founded on October 5, 1980, when the V Zonal Exhibition "Soviet Far East" was opened in the new building. The museum hosts exhibitions of painting, graphic arts, decorative and applied arts, and sculpture. The museum's collections include various holdings of significant artistic interest: "Painting of Artists of Siberia and the Far East of the 20th Century", "Art of Zabaykalsky Artists", "Russian engravings of the XVII–XVII centuries", "Soviet graphics. 20th century", and a unique collection of folk "primitive" art. In addition, the museum has a collection of decorative and applied arts, including "Tuvan stone-carving art", "Ural jewelry art", "National Art of Buryatia of the 19th–20th centuries", "Russian folk toy", "Ceramics" and "bone-carving art". Exhibitions in Hall No. 1 are accessible to wheelchair users and persons with musculoskeletal disabilities.
