About museum
The museum invites everyone to visit it and gain unforgettable impressions.
In 1978, the All-Russian Memorial Museum-Reserve was opened in the village of Srostki in the house that V. M. Shukshin bought as a gift for his mother in 1965. The main sources for creating the museum collections were the belongings and documents of Maria Sergeevna Kuksina (Shukshina)'s family, the collections of the village school museum and the museum of the Pedagogical Institute of Biysk. Currently, the museum holds more than 20,000 photographs, video documents, books and works of fine art. There is a literary exhibition in the school building where V. M. Shukshin studied, an exhibition hall, and the memorial expositions Mother's House and Distant Winter Evenings in the historic buildings. In addition, the museum conducts educational sessions, meetings with writers and annually in July hosts the All-Russian festival "Shukshin Days in Altai." Everyone is invited to visit this museum and discover unforgettable impressions.
