Exhibition Hall 'History of the Lower Terek Cossacks'
About museum
In 2007 a new branch of the Museum of Contemporary History — the Museum of Cossack Culture — was opened. It is housed in a building constructed at the end of the 18th century as part of a stone merchant row and was fully restored. It features sections 'History of the Terek Cossacks', 'Cossack way of life', 'Fishing', 'The Cossack's household', and 'Everyday and festive clothing of the Cossacks'. The museum displays over 2,000 exhibits, and local residents donate items that belonged to their relatives, the Cossacks. There is also a hall on the history of healthcare development, dedicated to the good deeds of doctors, nurses, midwives, and orderlies. Since 2017 the Museum of Cossack Culture has been known as the Exhibition Hall 'History of the Lower Terek Cossacks'.
