Volzhsky Local History Museum
About museum
\r\nOn April 4, 1970, the Volzhsky Local History Museum was opened; initially it existed as a branch of the Volgograd Regional Local History Museum. At the time of opening the museum comprised a large collection of items — more than 4,000 inventory units, most of which were related to the history of the Volzhskaya Hydroelectric Station (Volga HPP), industry, and the cultural life of Volzhsky residents. Since August 1994 the museum became fully independent, and its holdings grew to 70,000 inventory units. The modern museum offers various presentations and promotes the historical, cultural, and natural heritage of the region and the city. It offers tours, museum classes, lectures, public events and modern technologies such as traveling exhibitions, master classes, bus and walking tours, as well as tours using multimedia presentations.
