Vologda Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve
About museum
In 1885 the House of Peter I was opened, which became the first attempt to create a historical and architectural museum. At present the museum includes a complex of monuments of the Vologda Kremlin and nine branches. The total area of the architectural monuments is 9,000 sq. m, and annual attendance reaches 200,000 people. The museum holds over 400,000 items in its collections and also hosts more than 40 exhibitions on various topics. The museum comprises eight divisions, each of which has its own individual collection. Thus, the museum provides a wide range of services for tourists and historical researchers.
