Excursions, lectures, creative meetings, concerts and master classes are held at the museum. The museum also carries out research work and projects to study Perm culture. The Perm Regional Museum is one of the most famous museums of Perm Krai and one of the largest museums in Russia. It serves not only to present the history and culture of Perm Krai, but also to promote art and culture from around the world. The museum is intended to show visitors the history and culture of Perm Krai and to give them the opportunity to become acquainted with the ancient and newer traditions of Perm. The museum draws visitors' attention to the history, traditions and culture of Perm Krai.
The Perm Regional Museum was founded in 1890 and is considered one of the most famous museums of Perm Krai and Russia. The main museum building is Meshkov House. It consists of several divisions: the Museum of Perm Antiquities, the Diorama Museum, the Memorial House-Museum of N. G. Slavyanov, the Memorial House-Museum "Underground Printing House", the Selenite Room, and the Architectural and Ethnographic Museum "Khokhlovka".
