City Administration Museum
About museum
City Administration Museum is located in the historic part of the city, which was once a prestigious merchant quarter. The building is a cultural heritage site of the Lipetsk Region and at various times was home to prominent merchants. At the beginning of the 20th century the house housed a realschule (secondary technical school), and during the Soviet period it served as an orphanage and a kindergarten. In 2020 the branch reopened after restoration and allows visitors to explore the city's history spanning two hundred years. The 'Merchant House Parlor' exhibition presents merchant values and family traditions, while the 'Spa Visitor's Room' showcases the brightest pages of Lipetsk as a resort. The 'Zakrom' (storeroom) displays items of 19th-century merchant life that help to understand the city's industrial development. The City Administration Museum is a unique place to discover the city's history.
