Telephone History Museum
About museum
Telephone History Museum is a large-scale project of Mastertel, one of the leaders of the Russian telecommunications industry. It houses more than 2,000 items of rare equipment from the late 19th to the mid-20th century, allowing visitors to trace changes in the design and functions of telephone sets. The project's aims are to preserve historical and cultural heritage and to popularize scientific and technical knowledge among children and young people. The museum also helps to better understand how, over the past century, the telephone transformed from a luxury item into a necessary part of people's lives. Tours of the museum provide an introduction to the history of telephone communication and the evolution of technical communication devices up to the 1970s.
