About museum

In 1973 the House-Museum of M. S. Olminsky was opened, and in 2017 it was transformed into the Museum of the History of the Village of Podserednee. This house belonged to relatives of Olminsky, the famous revolutionary, writer and critic. He spent his childhood here and returned several times in his life. The museum exhibits documents, photographs and memorial items dedicated to the history of the village of Podserednee, known for its resilience and traditions. The museum also includes a section devoted to the famous ensemble of O. I. Manichkina, a singer and artisan who preserved the musical and ethnographic features of the local culture. The museum also displays works by L. N. Barbarin, as well as a section dedicated to the military history of the village of Podserednee. Special attention is paid to the Ostrogozhsk–Rossosh Operation. The museum offers much interesting information about the life and activities of M. S. Olminsky, as well as about the local culture and history of the village.
