Leonid Panteleev (real name – Alexey Ivanovich Eremeev) – a Soviet painter, graphic artist, muralist, and scenographer. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1956. From 1966 he was an Honored Artist of the Bashkir ASSR. Honored Artist of the RSFSR. He was born on April 7, 1932 in Velikiye Luki. In 1953 he graduated from the Ufa Theatrical and Art School.
After graduating from the school he created set sketches for the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theatre, as well as for the Republican Russian Drama Theatre. In total the artist participated in the production design of seventeen theatrical performances. In 1976 Panteleev moved from Ufa to Vologda at the invitation of V. N. Korbakov. From 1977 to 1983, and again from 1987 to 1989, he led the Vologda organization of the Union of Artists of Russia. Aleksandr Vasilievich Panteleev died on July 31, 1990 in Vologda.
