Department of Decorative and Applied Arts of the Glazov Local History Museum
About museum
Since February 7, 2019, the museum has hosted a Department of Decorative and Applied Arts, whose main task is the identification, study, preservation, development and promotion of objects of the intangible cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia in the field of traditional folk culture. Specialists of the department create various items from museum exhibits and from objects presented at meetings of the Art Council of AUK UR 'Republican House of Folk Art' (Izhevsk). Today the department works in nine areas: artistic processing of bone and horn, folk toy, traditional weaving, artistic metalworking, artistic wheel-thrown ceramics, artistic hand-built ceramics, ornamental decorative painting, patterned knitting, and artistic stylized painting.
