About museum
\r\nThe Omsk Museum of People's Artist of Russia K. P. Belov was opened on March 29, 1991, at the initiative of the local branch of the Union of Artists of Russia. The main part of the collection consists of works by K. P. Belov donated to the museum by his heirs: landscapes, historical paintings, original book illustrations, preparatory sketches, and studies from life. The artist's archive preserves memoirs, letters, documents, and photographs. The museum also exhibits works by K. P. Belov's son, S. K. Belov, and grandson V. M. Nekrasov. In addition, the museum holds a small but growing number of works by contemporary Omsk painters and graphic artists. The museum is housed in a wooden mansion built in the early 20th century by the wealthy industrialist and entrepreneur F. F. Shtumpf.
