The structural subdivision of the Slobodskoy Museum and Exhibition Center "Museum-Estate of Academician A. N. Bakulev" is included in the catalogs of Harvard University (USA) "Museums of World Medicine" and the Kirov Region "Museums-Reserves of Russia." The museum receives up to 19,000 visitors annually. It is visited by schoolchildren of various ages, students, workers, veterans of organizations, pensioners, and visitors from the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, the United States, Poland, Japan, Thailand, Switzerland, China and other countries. Alexander Nikolayevich Bakulev (08.12.1890 — 31.03.1967) was the first cardiac surgeon in Russia, a Hero of Socialist Labour, laureate of the Stalin and Lenin Prizes, an Honored Scientist, a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAN) and the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (RAMN), president of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR (1953–1960), director of the Institute of Thoracic Surgery of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR (1956–1959), head of the Department of Surgery at the 2nd Moscow State Medical Institute, Moscow (1943–1967), editor-in-chief of the Great Medical Encyclopedia, and editor-in-chief of the journal "Thoracic Surgery".
