\r\nKnowledge of any region is incomplete without acquaintance with its nature. For this purpose the Kostroma Region has the Museum of Nature, known to locals and visitors since 1958. Dioramas by V. A. Tyakom were installed in the Ipatiev Monastery, along with the insect collection of I. M. Rubinsky. Since 2002 the museum has moved almost to the city center, where permanent exhibitions were created: 'Spring', 'Early Winter', 'Deep Winter', 'Entomological Collection of I. M. Rubinsky', 'Birds and Beasts of the Kostroma Region', 'Born of the Earth' and the 'Insectarium'. The museum offers guided tours, interactive programs, master classes, ecological festivals and competitions. Here you can get acquainted with the richness of the Kostroma Region's nature and learn about the local animals and plants.
