The Museum of the State University of Veterinary Medicine is a collection from four departments. First of all, there is the collection of pathological anatomy, which is the largest in Russia and Europe. You can also find the museum of the Department of Animal Anatomy, which displays skeletons of domestic and wild animals, including rare species such as a camel, crocodile, dolphin, or elephant. The Museum of the Department of Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise is a small collection of specimens, models of food products and refrigerated railcars for transporting carcasses. Finally, the museum of the Department of Parasitology named after V. L. Yakimov contains a collection of specimens and models of ticks, as well as Professor Yakimov's personal belongings. Visits to each departmental museum are by prior appointment at times convenient for visitors and staff.
