Book Museum
About museum
The museum is known for its unique handcrafted works, produced to preserve Russia's cultural heritage. Recognized with numerous awards and prizes from the book community, these books are unlike any counterparts worldwide. In addition, the museum has collected and catalogued handwriting manuals (copybooks) from the 19th-20th centuries and metal nibs, forming the largest collection in Russia — over 14,000 specimens. Their history reflects the entire chronicle of the country's culture, including portrait nibs of great figures, as well as commemorative nibs marking the proclamation of the Franco-Russian Alliance and other examples of pen art from around the world. The museum also conducts scholarly-historical research, but is not intended for mass public tours.
