Mayakovsky Family Memorial Apartment

On Studenetsky Lane, at the end of September 2019, the Mayakovsky memorial apartment was opened; it had been inaccessible to visitors for almost half a century. Its interior was restored based on surviving photographs and the recollections of contemporaries of Aleksandra Alekseevna and Lyudmila. The room that belonged to Olga could not be reconstructed due to a lack of historical information. Exhibitions are now held there, the first of which is dedicated to the artistic legacy of Lyudmila Mayakovskaya. The aim of the detailed reconstruction of the past of the second half of the 20th century is to fully immerse visitors in the atmosphere of that time, and to tell the story of the Mayakovsky family's life and their efforts to preserve the poet's memory.
