Nikolai Ivanovich Dubravitsky – an honorary citizen of the town of Bologoye, Honored Teacher of the Russian Federation, director of Secondary School No. 12, founder of the Bologoye City Museum. He was born on December 12, 1902 in the village of Sherekhovichi into a priest's family. He began his studies at the Novgorod Theological Seminary, but after its closure continued his education in Borovichi. In 1920 he completed teacher training courses.
For many years Dubravitsky headed School No. 12 in Bologoye. In 1946 he founded a Children's Technical Station. In 1970 he established a local history museum, which initially operated on a voluntary basis. Even after his retirement, he secured the transfer of the museum collection to the Kolovskikh merchants' mansion, turning the school museum into a city museum. Nikolai Ivanovich Dubravitsky passed away in 1974. In 1997 the museum was named after him.
