On May 8, 2000, the Museum of the History of Otradny was opened. It houses more than 22,050 exhibits. Annually, more than 800 tours, 300 interactive programs, 200 meetings of generations and lessons of courage, as well as over 44 guest exhibitions are held. The museum has halls: 'Chronicle of the City and Enterprises', Hall of Fame, Memory Hall, Exhibition Halls. The museum's purpose is the study, collection, preservation and promotion of the city's history. Here you can learn about the pioneering oil workers, the minerals of the Samara region, the first oil, and wells. The main focus of activities is the patriotic education of townspeople, especially the younger generation. There is a Council and a Friends of the Museum Club, which includes well-known people, former leaders and leading specialists. They organize meetings of generations, talks, lessons of courage and remembrance, press conferences, farewell talks for school graduates, excursions, months of patriotic education and other events. The museum runs programs 'Worthy Citizens of a Great Country', 'The Whole Family to the Museum' and 'Leafing Through the Pages of History'.
