Vladimir Germanovich Molostvov
About museum
Vladimir Germanovich Molostvov was the last owner of the estate in the village of Dolgaya Polyana of the former Tetyushsky uyezd. Vladimir Germanovich was born into a noble family in Kazan and studied at the Page Corps in Saint Petersburg. After completing his education he served in the Guards and later in the Bulgarian Regiment. At the age of 26 he decided to leave military service and move to the civil sector, joining the Department of Imperial Domains. Six years later he resigned and set off on a journey to the East, during which he walked across the Syrian Desert.
After returning home, Vladimir Germanovich entered the service of the Ministry of Finance. In 1904 he moved to Dolgaya Polyana with his wife Elizaveta Vladimirovna (née Ber) and became the estate's full owner. From 1905 to 1917 Molostvov served as the district leader of the nobility and exerted considerable influence on the region's life. Under his leadership, schools, reading rooms, churches and mosques, as well as feldsher stations and homes for orphans, were opened in the villages. In Tetyushi, thanks to his initiatives, two gymnasia were founded — one for girls and one for boys.
