I.V. Babushkin Museum
About museum
1966 is considered the year the museum was founded; at that time it was called the "Museum of the Revolutionary I. V. Babushkin" and was administered by the local school. In 1972 it gained state status and was renamed the "Museum of the History of the town of Babushkin." It has three halls: an exhibition hall, a history hall and an antiquities room. The exhibition hall displays paintings by Irkutsk artist Georgy Ivanov, a collection of Baikal minerals and animal skeletons. The history hall features a collection of samovars and a recreated room of the revolutionary Ivan Babushkin, as well as a patefon and gramophones that are operational. The antiquities room exhibits old household utensils and everyday items. The museum organizes off-site excursions to the town's memorial sites.
