The Archaeological Museum in Cherepovets is one of the largest in the Northwest. Its collections comprise more than 100,000 items of various ages, from 10,000 to 600 years. The collection includes unique objects such as amber ornaments from the 1st millennium BC, a 10th-century chess piece, as well as artifacts and ornaments depicting animals. This collection was assembled thanks to numerous expeditions. The museum serves as a center for archaeological research in Vologda Oblast, conducted across various districts. The museum showcases the region's main archaeological monuments and unique exhibits that provide insight into the lives of people in the Cherepovets area long ago.
