About museum

In 2004 the Council of Veterans of the city of Gatchina proposed creating a museum that would acquaint visitors with the history of the city and its inhabitants in the past and present. In 2006 the museum was allocated premises on 25th October Avenue, and on November 22, 2009 it was opened to visitors. The museum presents the history of Gatchina and also hosts exhibitions, lectures, conferences, concerts and film screenings. Schools hold classes on the city's history and master classes. The museum also offers walking and bus-and-walking tours to help visitors learn more about Gatchina.
