I. A. Pliev Memorial House-Museum
About museum
On May 7, 1985, in Vladikavkaz, the Memorial House-Museum of Issa Alexandrovich Pliev — twice Hero of the Soviet Union and Hero of the Mongolian People's Republic, Army General — was opened. This branch of the National Museum of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania presents a collection of I. A. Pliev's personal letters, photographs, documents, awards and possessions. Here visitors can learn about his life and military service, as well as his role in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945. The museum also recreates I. A. Pliev's study with its authentic interior. It serves as a site for military-patriotic education and for hosting various exhibitions on military-historical themes in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and the North Caucasus region. In addition, new recruits of the 58th Army take the oath of allegiance to the Motherland here annually.
