I. A. Bunin Museum
About museum
In 1991 a museum dedicated to the life and work of Ivan Alekseyevich Bunin — the first Nobel laureate in literature from Russia — was opened in Oryol. This literary and memorial museum is housed in an old noble mansion located in the part of the city where Bunin lived at several addresses. At the museum you can learn about the dramatic fate of the writer, about his life in Russia until 1920 and in emigration in France, and also trace his creative path — from an obscure correspondent for a provincial newspaper to a classic of Russian and world literature. The I. A. Bunin Museum is a true memorial to the great writer!
