U.D. Buynaksky Memorial Museum
About museum
In 1978 the memorial museum of Ullubiy Daniyalovich Buynaksky was opened, presenting a collection of 700 exhibits. The exhibition is dedicated to the life and activities of the famous early 20th-century revolutionary of Dagestan. The atmosphere of the house where the scholar spent his childhood years has been recreated here. Visitors will see his parents' clothing, photographs and documents about his studies at various educational institutions. The museum displays a unique collection of documents and letters, as well as the door and grille from Ullubiy's prison cell. The museum also presents the history of revolutionary events in Dagestan and Buynaksky's village Ullu Boynak. At the museum visitors can learn about the most tragic chapters of Buynaksky's life — about his execution and the deaths of his comrades.
