About museum
On April 27, 1982, in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Adyghe Autonomous Oblast, the new building of the memorial museum of Kh. B. Andrukhaeva was opened, dedicated to the first among the country's writers and poets to be awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union (posthumously). The museum houses 1,830 exhibits, including original manuscripts, memoirs of comrades-in-arms, classmates, the poet's relatives and close friends, as well as ethnographic materials from the pre-war period. The museum hosts various events for the patriotic education of youth: lessons on courage, themed evenings, talks, lectures and tours. The Memorial Museum of Hero of the Soviet Union Kh. B. Andrukhaeva was opened on a voluntary basis in 1975 at Shovgenovskaya Secondary School No. 1.
