Fryanovo Local History Museum
About museum
The Historical and Local History Museum of the Fryanovo urban settlement was established by decree of the Head of the urban settlement on May 31, 2004. It is located in an old wooden manor built by Count I. L. Lazarev at the end of the 18th century. To preserve it, work was carried out to reinforce the foundation, re-roof the building, and perform general repairs. With the efforts of several staff members, exhibits were collected and an exhibition was created. On October 12, 2004, the museum opened to visitors. Currently it presents an engaging local history exhibition on the history of the Fryanovo silk-weaving, and later wool-spinning, factory, the Lazarev family, church history, and archaeological excavations. The museum hosts art exhibitions, guided tours, classical music concerts, meetings with descendants of Fryanovo industrialists, and participates in the 'Alyabev Nightingale' competition. The museum has become an attractive place to visit and to study the history and culture of the Fryanovo settlement.
