Marko Vovchok Memorial House-Museum

Marko Vovchok Memorial House-Museum is the only museum of the famous Ukrainian writer in Russia and neighboring countries. It is located in the house where Marko spent the last two years of her life. In the museum you can see personal belongings, books, documents, photographs that belonged to the writer, as well as items reflecting her close relationships with Pisarev, Turgenev, Shevchenko, Chernyshevsky, Hugo, Dumas and others. On the estate grounds is Marko Vovchok's grave, where she was buried at her request. The house was built in 1906 and today is an architectural monument of 20th-century urban development, built in the resort area near Nalchik — in Dolinsk. Here you can feel the atmosphere of that era and visit the place where Marko Vovchok lived and worked.
