Vladimir Vysotsky State Museum
About museum
The Vysotsky Museum is a special place where you can immerse yourself in the era in which Vladimir Vysotsky lived. On January 25, 2019, the day of his eighty-first birthday, a new exhibition was opened, which consists of thematic zones: 'The Beginning of the Path', 'The Living Room', 'Love and Friendship', 'Theatre and Cinema', 'Cinema Hall', 'Songs and Poems' and 'Memorial Study'. The idea of creating the museum arose after the poet's death in 1980. In 1989 there was an instruction from the Council of Ministers to create the museum, and in the summer of that year the Executive Committee of the Moscow City Council organized a Directorate for the creation of the museum. Today the museum is a cultural and scientific center that welcomes all lovers of Vladimir Vysotsky and his work.
