City Museum Complex 'Heritage'
About museum
GMK 'Heritage' is a museum and exhibition complex comprising two historical sites — the Starikov House and a former merchant's house. It was founded in 1997. The museum's purpose is the preservation, study and promotion of the historical heritage associated with the relocation of Stavropol from the flood zone during the construction of the Kuybyshev Hydroelectric Power Station. The museum presents the pivotal era of the transformation of Stavropol's cultural landscape in the mid-1950s. Visitors can see the permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions, as well as take part in interactive programs for children. Each year the museum is visited by more than 6,000 people. It preserves the connection between modern Tolyatti and the Stavropol that has disappeared forever.
