A.I. Kozlov Geological and Mineralogical Museum
About museum
The A.I. Kozlov Geological and Mineralogical Museum, named after Professor Alexander Ivanovich Kozlov, is the most important educational museum in the Russian Far East. In 1925, based on the mining department of the Technical Faculty of the Vladivostok Higher Polytechnic, a “Museum Cabinet” was established. In 1931 it was renamed the “Geological Museum” of the Geological Faculty of the Far Eastern Mining Institute. Professors of the department contributed their personal collections to the museum, and materials were also sent from other mining institutes. Subsequently, the museum’s exhibits continued to be supplemented with expedition materials from students and faculty. Today the museum is a true treasury of the natural relics of the Far East, where one can study the geology of this region.
