About museum

On June 18, 2011 a historical and art museum was opened in Gus-Khrustalny to mark the town's 255th anniversary. It is located next to the Maltsov Crystal Museum and is part of the tourism development program. The museum features two exhibitions: 'The Stone Chronicle of Meshchera' and 'The Goose Museum'. They tell the history and nature of Meshchera, as well as the goose as a sacred totem for the ancient inhabitants of this region. Temporary exhibitions are also presented, including a portrait gallery of Academician V. V. Shilov, works by artists from Gus, and the unique photo exhibition 'The Unknown Solzhenitsyn'.
