About museum
On June 18, 2011 a historical and art museum was opened in Gus-Khrustalny to mark the town's 255th anniversary. It is located next to the Maltsov Crystal Museum and is part of the tourism development program. The museum features two exhibitions: 'The Stone Chronicle of Meshchera' and 'The Goose Museum'. They tell the history and nature of Meshchera, as well as the goose as a sacred totem for the ancient inhabitants of this region. Temporary exhibitions are also presented, including a portrait gallery of Academician V. V. Shilov, works by artists from Gus, and the unique photo exhibition 'The Unknown Solzhenitsyn'. The museum invites everyone to learn about the history and culture of Meshchera.
