F. M. Dostoevsky House Museum in Staraya Russa

The F. M. Dostoevsky House in Staraya Russa is one of the seven Russian museums dedicated to the great writer. On the second floor of the house, in six rooms where the Dostoevsky family lived, the surrounding interiors have been restored. The memorial exhibition displays original belongings of the writer and his family members, documents, lifetime editions of his works, and period furniture. On the first floor there are service rooms, and the lower sitting room hosts exhibitions, scholarly readings, literary and musical evenings. In Staraya Russa schools, students study the writer's work according to a special program. Visitors can see places depicted in the novel "The Brothers Karamazov." Guests from different countries visit Dostoevsky's house to admire the restored interiors and to feel the spirit of the time in which the great writer lived.
