Children's Museum Center of the M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve
About museum
The children's museum center is located in a Cossack kuren where the Sholokhov family lived in 1926–1927. Here the writer worked on his literary works. The old house and farm buildings provide a special atmosphere for museum activities with children. Here children can develop a sense of respect for and attachment to their homeland. As part of the project 'The M.A. Sholokhov Museum — for the Younger Generation', children attend museum lessons, interactive sessions, and competitions. Schoolchildren take part in the 'Our Sholokhov' contest, where they can reveal their creative abilities. Lessons on the history and culture of the Don region provide extensive information about monuments, architecture, and nature. In the warm season the 'Don Crafts' exhibition is open, where children can look at and touch everyday objects and purchase them for their families. Thus, the children's museum center in the Cossack kuren offers children the opportunity to become acquainted with history and culture.
