Chistopol State Historical-Architectural and Literary Museum-Reserve
About museum
In 2014 the Chistopol State Historical-Architectural and Literary Museum-Reserve was established. It includes the City History Museum, the Boris Pasternak Memorial Museum, the Literary and Memorial Museum 'House of the Teacher', the G. Iskhaki Historical-Memorial and Ethnographic Complex, and the Museum Souvenir Salon. In 2014 the city of Chistopol participated in the project 'Comprehensive Development of the Territories and Infrastructure of Small Historic Towns'. By 2024 it is planned to reconstruct part of the city's historic area and to create new museums, including the City History Museum, the L. Leonov-Selvinskikh Memorial Museum, and the Merchant Life Museum 'Estate of Merchant Poduruev'. The renovation of existing exhibitions, the improvement of Chistopol's historic center and other activities are included in the project. In 2013 the historic center of Chistopol was recognized as a site of regional significance and covers 160 hectares. Chistopol is a historic settlement of federal significance in Russia.
