Exhibition of theatrical artists

Are professional exhibitions interesting to ordinary people? If it's an exhibition of works by theatrical artists, then perhaps.
The history of "Results of the Season" is very rich. The sixty-first exhibition is taking place now! And compared to recent ones, the current one is especially good! First of all, artists were involved in arranging the exhibition and it's immediately noticeable. In the large spacious hall of the "New Manege", located in Georgievsky Lane in Moscow, theatrical little booths on wheels were placed. Costume sketches, models, dolls and props were arranged both inside the traveling performers' mobile homes and outside, as if decorating them for the viewers.

There are many exhibits. For me they all fall into three categories:
– productions that I have seen (it's very interesting to observe how an idea was born and what it turned into)
– productions that are performed in theatres but that I haven't seen (here the artistic solutions either attract and create a desire to see the result, or they don't)
– artistic works that ended up being unused and there is no production based on the presented scenography (this is the most interesting category; you can come up with many reasons why the works didn't suit the client)

But even without thinking theatrically, it's still very interesting to look at the incredibly creative works of the artists!

I really love examining costume sketches from the point of view of possible execution. Some artists depict garments very realistically, but such cases are a tiny minority. More often they show some inhuman proportions, incredible colours or simply spots, bundles of thread or forms that (it seems) are impossible to create, considering the laws of physics. But the artist needs it that way, so the technologists will somehow make it work)

There are also many illuminated models this year. A model is scenography shown in scale and volume. Like a dollhouse with all its contents, only the dolls are actors and they are on stage in the scenery. So when the model is also lit the same way it will be later, the whole construction looks incredibly realistic. And cozy. It seems that the little figures will come to life any moment and the performance will begin.

Besides museums and exhibitions I also really love theatre, so this exhibition combines all my interests! And, by the way, importantly, admission is free!
