At the A.N. Radishchev Museum an intellectual-entertainment game "Russian Amusements" took place. The participants were students from the school of the village of Nikolskoye in the Kuznetsky District.

Museum staff spoke about the traditions and rituals of the Russian people. The children learned that Russian folk games have a centuries-old history; they have been preserved and passed down to our days from remote antiquity, handed from generation to generation, absorbing the best national traditions. Participants of the game were introduced to the traditional folk doll, which was not merely a toy but a symbol of the continuation of the family line, a guarantee of family happiness.

The pupils learned that the most ancient type of footwear among peasants was lapti (bast shoes), which were woven from the bark and inner bark of many deciduous trees: linden, birch, elm, oak, willow, using a kochedyok — a hook for weaving. The children were shown such an item from the museum's collection and took part in the old folk game "Lapti."

The children demonstrated their agility and resourcefulness in the games "Lyulka," "Drake and Duck," "Streamlet," "Weaveress," "Malechina–Kalechina," showed dexterity in pastimes "Forest," "Braid the Plait," "Tug the Rope," and also performed Alexander Radishchev's favorite circle song "A Birch Stood in the Field."

To revive beloved games and give them a second life, it is enough simply to teach children how to play them. Games should not be forgotten, as they fulfill their main purpose — they bring joy and pleasure to both children and adults.

Advance registration for the event is required and can be made by phone at 8(84157)5-16-25 or via Telegram at 89530263804
