On February 20 at 19:00 the third lecture-concert "Fragments of the Mystery" from the series "Strings of Musical History" will take place in the memorial exhibition of the Scriabin Museum.
In our Museum the historic grand piano that was given to A. N. Scriabin practically at the dawn of his creative career — in the distant year 1895 — will sound again. This remarkable instrument can be considered a fine example of the pianos once produced by the world-famous domestic factory "J. Becker". Today, after restoration, its voice has once again regained its former beauty and unique timbre.
Works by Scriabin written in the later years of his creative life will be performed. These compositions, which so vividly demonstrate the possibilities of a new musical language, are still shrouded in an aura of legend and contain many secrets hidden in the elusive realms of Symbolist understatement.
Host: Pavel Shatsky (Candidate of Art History, Associate Professor at the P. I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, laureate of the Moscow Government Prize) (piano).
