Cosmonautics Day in Volgograd

On April 12 the whole world celebrates the anniversary of the first human flight into space. In Volgograd, events dedicated to this occasion will take place on that day.

Planetarium.
Musical fulldome program "Cosmonautics: Rock from the Cosmodrome".
Under the planetarium dome there will be a concert program by the band "Kosmonavtika" from Moscow. The group's idea is to perform pieces with samples of cosmonaut communications, speeches by scientists and announcers from Soviet films, and, of course, to sing in different languages. The band's music is a mix of space rock in the spirit of Spiritualized, Spacemen 3 and Public Service Broadcasting, and Britpop of the Blur and Oasis era. The concert program consists of pieces from three previously released albums. The sound of instruments accompanied by speeches of well-known scientists and philosophers will help listeners immerse themselves in a journey from launch, flight into space, and back to Earth. "Stories" about the achievements of domestic cosmonautics in a new interpretation are supplemented by compositions in the style of traditional indie rock with songs in Russian. A specially prepared unique fulldome projection will complement the band's best cosmic compositions.

Gorky Library.
On April 12 the A. M. Gorky Library will hold a themed day dedicated to Cosmonautics Day under the title "Gagarin at Gorkovka." The event will include various activities:
Space meme contest. Participants must come up with a funny and unusual meme on the topic of cosmonautics in the form of an image or GIF and send it to the email centrnauk@gorkilib.ru or to the VK group messages https://vk.com/centrnauk. The author of the best meme will receive a prize from the Science Center of the Gorky Library.
Intellectual game "Space Odyssey." Teams from different educational institutions of Perm will compete in erudition, ingenuity, and knowledge in the fields of astronomy and cosmonautics. Team registration is required.
Screening and discussion of the film "Kin-dza-dza!" The Soviet sci-fi anti-utopia about an intergalactic journey will leave unforgettable impressions on fans of cosmic odysseys.

Museum-Reserve "Old Sarepta".
A grand concert will be held in the Lutheran church. Several choral ensembles will perform for guests:

children's choral ensemble "Rodnichok" led by Alla Izmaylova;
choir "Kamerton" of the Volgograd Conservatory named after Serebryakov, conducted by Sergey Lopatin, choirmaster Yana Makarova.
