About museum
Museum of the Boratynskys is located in an old family house in the city of Kazan; it was opened in 1977 and received state status in 1981. The exhibition displays part of the Boratynsky family collection donated by descendants of the poet Yevgeny Boratynsky, as well as items gifted by friends of the poet's descendants. The founder of the museum is Vera Georgievna Zagvozkina. In 1991 the museum moved into the restored wing of the Boratynsky estate and was restored and adapted as a museum up to 2015. The museum hosts cultural and educational events, operates the Kazan Antiquities Enthusiasts Club, runs the projects "Aleksey Gomazkov's Poetic Theatre" and "Music of the White Hall", and holds the Christmas and Pushkin balls, as well as the children's festival "Christmas at the Boratynskys' House". The museum preserves the spiritual legacy of the Boratynsky family and continues long-term creative cooperation with singer Yulia Ziganshina and the literary association "White Crow" led by poet Naili Akhunova.
