Folk culture is the foundation of national culture. It is a world that reveals the moral values of the Russian people: diligence, compassion, and love of nature and native land.
The A.N. Radishchev Museum has opened a tactile exhibition of peasant life “A Little Light Burns in the Low Chamber”.
The exhibition features items of peasant culture and household life from the 19th to the early 20th century.
Young visitors to the exhibition were not only told about, but also shown how our ancestors used household items; any child who wished could try to use them with their own hands, which in turn led to the conclusion that life in the old days was not easy. Just the rubel used for ironing laundry is something! And the heavy spinning wheel and the unwieldy carrying yoke speak for themselves. Each exhibit was carefully taken in the hands of the young admirers of antiquities and examined. Many children saw antique items for the first time, so all the exhibits aroused great interest.
The tactile exhibition of peasant life “A Little Light Burns in the Low Chamber” will remain on display for a month. Museum visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of peasant life and get acquainted with household items that played an important role in the lives of our ancestors.
