Seymchan Local History Museum

The Seymchan Local History Museum located in the territory of the Srednekan urban district was founded by Pankraty Iovich Borisov in 1983. As of early 2021 the museum's collection comprises 13,440 items of historical significance. The exhibits include items related to the romance of geological exploration, political repressions, the history of the settlement, the underground treasures of the North, the area's natural monuments and the nature reserve, the culture and everyday life of indigenous peoples, pilots on the Alaska–Siberia air route during the Great Patriotic War, as well as the unique nature of the North. The Seymchan Local History Museum serves as a historical memorial and is intended for use in exhibitions, displays and events. It invites young residents of Seymchan to become acquainted with the region's history and to learn to appreciate it.
