Vavozh District Local History Museum
About museum
The Vavozh District Local History Museum was founded in 1991 and is located in the center of the village of Vavozh in a two-storey mansion from the late 19th century. The museum's exhibitions introduce visitors to the history of Vavozh, as well as to the traditional crafts of local peasants from the early 20th century. When visiting the museum, people can not only view the exhibitions, but also become participants: solving riddles and crosswords, learning old games, discovering ancient customs, and watching video clips. The museum also conducts tours around Vavozh, where people learn about the St. Nicholas Church, built in 1835 to a design by 19th-century architect S. E. Dudin, as well as about historic buildings that have survived to this day. The museum holds many interesting events, such as exhibition openings, 'Night at the Museum', 'Night of the Arts' and 'Cadet Day', which attract many visitors.
