Stary Oskol Art Museum
About museum
The structure of the Stary Oskol Art Museum consists of four main departments: painting, graphics, decorative and applied arts, and sculpture. The museum's collection includes works covering the period from the 1940s to the present, allowing one to trace the development of Soviet and post-Soviet art. The collection was formed through transfers of works from the Art Fund of the RSFSR, the Moscow Painting Art Combine, and the Belgorod Cultural Fund. In 2002 the Russian Foundation for Fine Arts (Moscow) added works by artists from CIS countries to our collection. The collection includes works by People's Artists of the RSFSR, Honored Artists of the RSFSR, recipients of USSR state prizes, and works by Stary Oskol artists. Work to expand the collection is ongoing.
